Posted on

Life During the Pandemic

Despite world conditions, we still can make the most out of summer. The sun beaming and a beautiful blue sky is enough to brighten one’s day! Even when fall arrives the leaves changing color and the crisp breeze will help us reflect on the positive things in life.

Because of the pandemic, we are limited to very few of our normal activities or we are thinking of new ways to do those activities. The one thing that has not changed is being able to take advantage of the good weather and spend time outdoors. So, how can we get the greatest joy out of good weather despite current circumstances?

Make an Outdoor Space You’ll Fall in Love With

When I think of fall or autumn I think of cinnamon, apple orchards, and wine country. As fall approaches why not incorporate some of these elements into your outdoor space. Add a napa bistro tableand keep the fire burning by entertaining your friends with wine and cheese.

Build an outdoor bar in your backyard and create a cozy retreat. Bring in color and character by using Parisian rattan bistro chairs. Your backyard will be so charming you'll want to spend every night enjoying the view, and your friends will not want to leave!

For those of us who choose to travel or who want an unforgettable experience notice our next idea on how to enjoy the last days of summer.

Paris on the Terrace

Earlier this year I planned a trip for the fall to travel to Paris for a much-needed getaway. After March and April, I realized that my dream vacation was going to be postponed due to COVID-19. So when I heard about Jordan Winery in Healdsburg, California “Paris on the Terrace I was elated.

According to their website the Paris on the Terrace is an opportunity to “Travel to France without leaving California with new outdoor food and wine pairing experience at Jordan. Under the shade of oak trees, you’ll relax at your party’s bistro table on the terrace with the Jordan Winery Chateau as a backdrop”.

I don’t know about you but this sounds like the perfect place to be! The best part even though we are encouraged to social distance, sitting outside with our closest companion and sipping wine is a great compromise. You can reserve a table at Jordan Winery “Paris on the Terrace” until October 31st.

Think Outside the Box

In addition, to creating the perfect outdoor space and relaxing with friends. There are other outdoor activities you can enjoy. Go for a hike, or rollerblading in a nearby park. Go fishing, hunting, or explore your town. Enjoy the sun and a nice ride and go golfing.

You could also go camping in your backyard. Place a few Adirondack chairs, pitch a tent, and add some outdoor lights. And then, tell stories around a fire and roast marshmallow to create memories.

Grow fruits and vegetables in your backyard. Re-decorate your backyard and prepare to add fall flowers. Make your backyard fun by adding fun flower pots. Not only will this make your backyard beautiful but it also is a great activity to relieve stress and is very relaxing!

If we think of new ways to make life “normal” again it will do wonders for our mental health. It is shocking how much our home environment can add to our stress.
